Random Bad #9 - Ripping Open a Bag of Chips and it Explodes
This seems like an obscure bad, but this has happened to me many, many times. You get a bag of chips or any type of junk food. You want to open it and eat up the snacks, but the tear down slits aren't working for you, and for some reason, it's really hard to open the bag vertically. You can barely get a grip due to the size of the bag, but eventually you do. You put tons of force into ripping it open, and alas, it explodes. Chips fly everywhere and, if you follow the 5 second rule, a large percentage of your favorite snack is ruined.
Why does this happen so much? Why can't the snack companies just use a lighter adhesive or use better "tear here" technology? Personally, this always happened to me with bags of peanuts. This made it even worse because the peanuts roll everywhere, making them even more difficult to clean up. What have I learned about this, though? Be patient, careful, and cautious. Wise words that can be applied to life, but I only apply them to opening bags of chips.
